Matchpaint is a dialogue between technology and a man’s constant search for victory. A work of art 17 years in the making, beginning in 2005 with that matchpoint that gave him his first Grand Slam. It’s a homage, an ovation to a lifelong commitment to finding uniqueness in every point.

START SCROLLING ︎︎︎︎︎︎︎︎︎

By using motion tracking technology, we analized all of Rafa Nadal’s Grand Slam matchpoints. We also analized his Acapulco Open championship points.

With that data, we obtained 26 unique and uncomparable patterns, one for each of Rafa’s matchpoints.

AND KEEP SCROLLING ︎︎︎︎︎︎︎︎︎

What did we do with those 26 unique patterns from Rafa’s matchpoints? Something wild...

We gave them to a robotic arm and programmed it to paint each one of those patterns.
Just a robot, a brush and white cotton paper canvas. All in order to achieve something unique.

AND THERE IS MORE ︎︎︎︎︎︎︎︎︎

We then created 26 works of art, each one unique and signed by Rafa Nadal. These are a celebration of his achievements and victories, while also being a reflection of the uncomparability of each one of his matchpoints.

Even when we had something unique, we wanted to share it with all of Rafa’s fans, so

we created the Amstel Ultra Matchpaint Special Edition. A series of 26 collectible cans celebrating the uniqueness of each of those matchpoints.

AND STILL MORE ︎︎︎︎︎︎︎︎︎

But, why stopping there? We had the cans, we had the fans. How could we deliver an even richier consumer experience?

We turned the can into an interactive hub. Through a combination of QRs and AR technologies, we gave exclusive content such as Rafa Nadal’s interviews, interactive experiences and the ability to keep track of your scanned cans in order to win unique prizes.
All of this behind a login that helped us to perform an exhaustive data collection.

As of today, Amstel Ultra Matchpaint is an ongoing project.
